from embarrassment that is. Embarrassing moments are often hilarious in Fashion Show at Columbia Unv. , 1980something retrospect, but in the moment, OMG. I’ve had a few moments when I wish I could turn back the clock. The one that is most prominent in my mind is years ago when I was with a boyfriend visiting a group of his friends. I don’t remember all of the details but I believe these were his classmates from law school. They were in their last year or had just graduated and decided to all get together at someone’s house.
I was sitting comfortably on the floor next to my beau and a group of folks who were having a lively conversation and joking around. Any one who knows me, knows I love to laugh. I laugh until I cry, I laugh uncontrollably and I laugh loudly. Well, someone said something funny and I leaned over in one of my moments of hysteria and off my wig flew! (as a model, it wasn’t uncommon to wear wigs on and off the court). I had to sit up, adjust the darn thing back on my head and act as if what just happened was “okay.” yikes! I don’t remember much of what happened after that because needless to say, I was in shock. I don’t even remember if my boyfriend said anything. I think he was in more denial than I was!
What’s the best way to handle embarrassment? Acknowledge it, ignore it, laugh? Can you think of an embarrassing moment that you can laugh at now? How did you handle it?

acknowledge it and keep it moving... :D
my funniest moment.... lt was really EMBARRASING to me but HILARIOUS to all those who saw it. it was summertime and the entire building was outside. i was all but 14 and thought i was grown. i went for a walk with some GUY and it was geting dark. as you know, my mom didn't play that. i could barely leave the stoop or come outside. as the guy and i returned, my mom was waiting for me on the stoop. like she was waiting at the bus and it was stuck over the bridge. as a matter of fact, i believe the entire building was waiting. yes... all eyes were on me. i could see that she was pissed and that she saw me come up the street with this guy made it worse. i quickly ditched him and made a dash up the stairs, but not before my mom caught me and hemmed me up against the wall for the entire block to see.... EMBARASSED???? heck yeah!!! Everyone just laughed at me. i had just hung out with the boy of my dreams and mom put the knosh on that and in front of him and the entire block...
NOW all i can do is laugh. it felt like my mom had the strength of the bionic woman. i never hung out with that guy again. he basically acknowledged the situation and kept it moving.... :D
